Everad Ventura Hendricks
Virgin Islands Daily News, 16 March 2007Services will be held Saturday for Everad Ventura Hendricks, 49, of St. Thomas, who died on March 8, 2007, at 7:18 a.m. at Schneider Hospital. The first viewing will take place at Davis Funeral Home Chapel today from 5 to 7 p.m. The second viewing will be on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in 5C-Estate Hoffman, Donoe Bypass, in St. Thomas, followed by the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery in Smith Bay.
Everad, more affectionately known as "Everett," "Fat Boy" or "Taxi No. 27," was born in Road Town, Tortola, on June 24, 1957. From a young age he was an energetic and adventurous child, someone determined to do as he wished. Most persons who have associated with him knew his true passion was for cars. His preferences were European models like the Mercedes; and the American models of Chevrolet, in particular. To recent times he was well-known among his peers and brethren to be the source of acquiring the part you needed to ensure that your vehicle ran well. In addition, in his last years, Everad was a taxi driver with V. I. Taxi Association as taxi number 27 and honored Dazzlers Jewelry Store as his personal choice for commercial and private affairs.
He is survived by his parents, Elred Lettsome, Mary Hendricks and Vancito George; grandfather, Joseph Burt; fiancée, Verdelle Parsons; son, Jamal Hendricks; daughter, Dominique Hendricks; brothers, Tony Chalwell, Charles and Eddie George; sisters, Arona George deWindt, Vermiletha Hendricks Lewis, Glancina George Richards, Velda and Florentine George; aunts, Esmie Potter, Caroline Thomas, Myrtle Pope, Linda Hendricks and Inez Hendricks; special aunt and cousin, Ruth Frett; uncles, Elreth, Ralph and Albert Thomas; nephews, Clyde Jr. and Victor Lewis, Dwayne Thomas, Nehemiah, Benaiah, Diarese and Jeremiah George, Andrew George, Tyrone Richards, Kevin and Kelvin Mercer; nieces, Monique Lewis, Brianna George, Yvonne Crabbe, Kimara deWindt, Roxanne deWindt Toussaint, Nadia George, Marsha and Bernadette Benjamin, Coya, Kishma and Kedisha Richards; brothers-in-law, Clyde Lewis, Raymond deWindt, Tyrone Richards; sister-in-law, Dionne George; aunt-in-law, Cheryl Thomas; extended family members, Captain Wendell Parsons and Wayne Parsons; and many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by Inez Lettsome.
